Magic Shell can be made with just two ingredients in under 5 minutes! All you need is coconut oil and chocolate chips. You can use any flavored chips you like and pour it on ice cream.
MAGIC SHELL RECIPE
Growing up Magic Shell was the coveted topping when ice cream sundaes were being made. It was always in a tiny bottle and gone after four people used it. The chocolate mixture hardens on top of the cold ice cream. The most satisfying part was cracking that magic shell with a spoon.
WHAT IS MAGIC SHELL
It’s a chocolate sauce that hardens when poured on ice cream.
HOW DOES IT WORK
In this version, when the warm chocolate and coconut oil mixture is poured on the cold ice cream the mixture hardens when it hits the cold.
INGREDIENTS
- Coconut Oil – I use refined coconut oil because it has a very mild coconut flavor compared to unrefined coconut oil but either can be used.
- Chocolate Chips – use semisweet or milk chocolate. In fact you can use any flavor.
VARIATIONS
You can use any flavor of chips that you want.
- Peanut butter chips
- Butterscotch chips
